We are not a photography studio. T.E.Datum is a photography service. Our primary business is to take aging printed photographs, photograph collections, slides (transparencies) and convert their images to a digital format.
The degree of editing is determined by the customer. Considering the intended purpose of the image, some customers may want to preserve just what they see. Most customers want a more finished product. We are a service and will do as little or as much restoration as desired. Enlarging and cropping can do wonders for poorly composed originals. Specific enlargement and reduction is always an option.
Preservation
T.E.Datum preserves the photographic image. We do not preserve the actual photograph. Your original Photograph will be unmodified except for removal from albums, frames, etc. necessary for scanning.
The image will always first be preserved for you "as scanned." Some image correction may occur during the scan process. RAW unprocessed scans can be supplied if desired. All photo's are archived again on same disk after correction and enhanced.
Any printed or digital image we supply will be subject to the preservation limits of the media (photo book and optical media). We use only Archival Grade rated optical media and acid free photo books. T.E.Datum Publishing offers NO Guarantee on media. Customer backup of the archive disk is strongly recommended to create working copies. |
